Oral History Program Interview: Lula May Quinn Martin
Lula Martin was born in Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory, Oklahoma in 1893. She and her family came to Farmersville, California in 1936. Jewell Martin was born in Meeker, Lincoln County, Oklahoma in 1924. The two women described what "Okie" meant to them, how their family considered involvement in strikes, and why The Grapes of Wrath is inaccurate regarding the migrants' morality. Jewell Martin aslo describes both Linnell government camp and Evans private camp.
