Band and crowd in the stadium

A group of students with musical instruments sit on a horse-drawn carriage with a sign that reads 'World's Fair or Bust'. This photo is described in the 1939 El Rodeo Yearbook as "the German band giving comedy relief" during Poly Royal on March 24, 1939, during the opening of the seventh annual Poly Royal (see here: digital.lib.calpoly.edu/rekl-23257). The photo is in the Cal Poly stadium. An annotated photo of the musical group names them as the "Hungry Five," Moet Lavers, Bruce Ponton, Lloyd Dille, Phil York, Chet Cash (see here: digital.lib.calpoly.edu/rekl-3719). Pictured in the stands are the Varsity Band, students and Cal Poly faculty, as well as the public.
